New Book – Natural Histories

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageWith my recent trip to Oxford, I was able to look around a book store called Blackwell’s. They have a variety of different book stores, and I went into the art and design book store. Now, I’m not going to lie, I’m not a big reader, I don’t really have the patience to sit down and read a book, I’m more of a picture book person, I like to see things visually, so this art book store was like a little piece of heaven with picture books galore!

One book in particular that really caught my eye was this Natural Histories book. I’ve always been interested in Natural History ever since I was little so to find a book which is all about the illustrations of how animals were seen back in the day, it was love at first site. I love old fashioned illustrations as I find they have so much character, they all seem unique with all illustrations being hand drawn.

This book package comes with a book going through the history of illustrations and the back stories of how the artists came about drawing the animals, and even though I’m not a massive fan of reading, I do find this book very interesting! The package also comes with 40 prints of the illustrations found in the book and I cannot wait to find some nice frames to put them in and get them on my walls!

I really recommend this book to anyone for a love of art and illustration as well as animals and nature.
